We are committed to the education, cultural awareness, and solidarity of BC students with the Jemez Peoples of New Mexico through service and immersion experiences.
The overall program consists of two sub-programs. The Jemez Pueblo Service and Immersion Trip is in its eighth year and consists of a group of approximately 20 Boston College students traveling to Jemez Pueblo, NM over winter or spring break and immersing themselves in the Jemez culture while also actively serving the community members through the Pueblo’s Department of Education.
The Jemez-to-BC Immersion Program is in its third year and was founded with the dual objective of demonstrating continued solidarity with the members of the Pueblo while also encouraging innovation in service on campus. The actual program consists of a team of approximately 15 Boston College students hosting a group of high school seniors from the Walatowa Charter High School in an effort to expose them to the realities of the college environment as they exist at Boston College.
